Buddleia x weyeriana ‘Sungold’

One of the things I really adore about Buddleia x weyeriana is that the globose blooms look like scoops of thick, rich cornish ice cream. You can’t actually eat these flowers, but they really are irresistible, especially for bees.

Buddleia x weyeriana is a buddleia for gardeners who dislike buddleias. It is not invasive like B.davidii, has a fuller growth habit than its gaunt cousin, and it is relatively unusual. A cross between B.globosa (the ‘Orange Ball Tree’) and B.davidii, this shrub also has lilac-edged and bicoloured cultivars.

I have these in the garden for the hummingbirds. They LOVE them!

I need to look for one of these. I love buddleia, but they are too big and rangy. This one sounds perfect. I wonder if I can find it in the US?
